Written for Bass Trombonist Jonathon Warburton, Acrobatics (2017) is a virtuosic gymnastic routine for the Bass Trombone. The piece features the soloist performing musical tumbling routines before ending in a dizzying array of flips and somersaults before ending in a flourish worthy of an Olympic medal. This piece uses a wide array of techniques to engage the audience and is a great way to end a recital.
