The Miami Low-Frequency Ensemble was established in 2008 as a unique musical group composed of 10-15 Tuba and Euphonium performers, educators, and enthusiasts from the Miami area. The large ensemble has since evolved into a quartet of local professionals who share a deep passion for showcasing the beauty of low brass music. Horby Lopez and Alejandro Guardia, Jr. have been with the ensemble since its inception, contributing to its rich history and musical evolution. Kevin Illdefonso joined the ensemble shortly after its formation, adding his talents to the group. The most recent addition to the quartet is Armando Alicandu, who further enriches the ensemble's sound and continues its tradition of excellence in low brass music. The group actively engages with the community and spreads their love for low brass music by regularly performing recitals at schools, music camps, and conferences all over South Florida.
